Amid the restrictions of the pandemic, the 63rd Grammy Awards were widely regarded as a successful event with records broken and a triumph for diversity. Beyoncé received her record breaking 28th Grammy award overtaking Alison Krauss as the most recognised woman. She won her an award in honour of Black Parade which was a celebration of black power. Meanwhile hot favourite Taylor Swift scooped her third album of the year gong with "Folklore" which propelled her into the elite category of four treble winners, after also coming out on top in 2010 and 2016. Megan Tree Stallion collected for the best new artist while also winning for best rap performance with Beyoncé.
The award winners were generally regarded as one of the most diverse groups yet with females especially having lots of representation on the winners list. In terms of outbreaks and WTF moments it was a quiet night. There were standout live performance from Billie Eilish , BTS, Dua Lipa, Cardi B and a opening performance of "Watermelon Sugar" from Harry Styles which was the same song that won him best solo pop performance.
