Rapper arrested after Coventry Nightclub death

Rapper Pa Salieu who won the BBC sound of 2021, has been charged for violent disorder in connection with the 2018 death of a 21 year old man at a nightclub in Coventry. West Midlands police have confirmed he is one of ten men charged over the incident which resulted in the death of Fidel Glasgow. Salieu full name Pa Salieu Gaye, has been charged with two counts of violent disorder, wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. Salieu commented on his Instagram: “Due to ongoing investigations, I am unable to comment on the detail surrounding the fateful events that occurred back in September 2018. Sadly, my close friend Fidel Glasgow (AP) was taken from us well before his time.”

Despite a vigorous enquiry, No-one has yet been charged with the murder of Fidel Glasgow. This despite numerous arrests since the inquiry began. Rapper Salieu and nine other defendants will appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on April 28th. West midlands police regard the charges as a step forward in the investigation to find the killer. 

Pa Salieu , signed to Warner records with his debut single "Frontline", which was the most played track of 2020 on BBC 1Xtra. He is due to be touring the UK later this year in November.
