Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi hosted a Spanish indie pop band 'Love of lesbian' to 5000 spectators on Saturday as part of a pilot project for the Spanish government who are weighing up if Covid 19 testing systems can prevent outbreaks from events. The usual event capacity of the venue is 17,000 but Saturdays gig was not made a socially distanced evening, all attendees were required to wear masks throughout. Ticket holders were also made to visit nominated testing centres earlier that day. More countries governments look to be organising similar trial events including in Berlin and Liverpool venues. The events research programme is set to launch in April in the UK with various trial events at venues that usually attract crowd gatherings including nightclubs, stadiums and theatres.
