Country singer Morgan Wallen has issued a video apology for his comments that have fuelled racist accusations. In the five minute video posted to his Instagram account he claims " you saw was me on hour 72 of a 72-hour bender, and that's not something I'm proud of".  Despite been dropped by his record label and hundreds of radio and music tv stations,  distancing themselves from his music, Wallen music streams increased by 3% and his album Dangerous stayed on top of the album charts in the US. Since the incident , Wallen has been meeting with black organisations listening first hand to accounts of racial acts in a bid to understand the implications of his comments. Wallen said "I came away from those discussions with a deep appreciation for them and a clearer understanding of the weight of my words. I wish the circumstances were different for me to learn these things, but I'm also glad it started the process for me to do so".
